// Hello, I am Jea and this is my art.

I portray people and places with a hint of the unseen. I like to focus on details that often go unnoticed. And show people a side of themselves they haven’t discovered yet. Primarily I use photo manipulation to create surreal images. The digital in relation to reality form somber and melancholic visual mindscapes with insights of vulnerability and strength at the same time. Depending on the artistic concept I also use 3D renderings, video, animation but also acrylic and spray paint. My work often explores questions of female representation and the relationship between body and self.

Ich porträtiere Menschen und Orte und konzentriere mich dabei gern auf Details, die oft unbemerkt bleiben. Ich zeige den Menschen vor meiner Kamera eine Seite, die sie vorher an sich noch nicht entdeckt haben. Mein Hauptfokus ist die künstlerische Seite der Fotografie: Ich nutze digitale Verzerrung und Manipulation, um surreale Bilder zu erstellen. Oft wirken sie düster oder melancholisch und zeigen Einsichten von Verletzlichkeit und Stärke zugleich. Die von Digitalem durchdrungende Wirklichkeit der Gegenwart fasziniert mich dabei immer wieder. So kombiniere ich auch 3D-Renderings, Animationen und Videos für meine konzeptionellen Arbeiten. Andere Bilder entstehen wiederum ganz konkret greifbar mit Acrylfarben auf schwarzer Leinwand.
